A Collin County charter school says it’s considering making changes after parents complained that their elementary-age students were taught age inappropriate topics; such as depression, divorce and identifying as transgender.
The school’s administration officer Julia Brady said teachers reviewed all the projects ahead of time and deemed them all appropriate.
“I think those topics make plenty of sense on the high school level,” said Melissa Marrow, who has sons in the third and fourth grade at the school. “But I don’t think my 8 or 10-year-olds are prepared to tackle some of those things without serious questions. I want to be the parent. I want to be able to walk through those things with them and not be surprised.”
The War on Children was constant and required since parents and elders had already succumbed to their plans and were too busy too medicated too mindless and too vaccinated to pay attention to what was happening to their families.
These are all characteristics of what it meant to raise children in modern western civilization.
Take a look the face of the demons like Darren Shan raising and teaching your children.
See and read what they are reading.
The narrator and main character, Darren Shan, is a strange boy. He goes to a freak show with his friend, Steve. It‘s the gothic “Cirque du Freak” where weird, half human/half animals appear and interact with the audience. Darren “falls in love” with a tarantula and determines to steal the spider so that he can train it to perform amazing deeds. Soon, Darren and his friend Steve are caught up in a deadly trap. Darren must take a bargain with the one person who can save him. But that person is not human and only deals in blood. Darren must become the vampire‘s assistant and a half-vampire himself in a bloody initiation ceremony.
Good wholesome fun reading for your minors.
Darren followed up “The Demonata” with a one-off fantasy book called “The Thin Executioner”, which he has cited as his favourite book that he has so far written. After that he wrote a four book series called “The Saga of Larten Crepsley,” telling the background story of Mr Crepsley, covering the two hundred years of his life before we first saw him in “Cirque Du Freak.”
Next up for teenagers, Darren is writing a twelve book series called “Zom-B.” Little has been revealed about it so far, except the books will be short and released swiftly, every three months in the UK and USA. The first book is due to go on sale in late September or early October 2012.
