(Before It's News)

Each year the career field shifts in one direction or another, accentuating one line of work over another in terms of how much of a need for more certified and qualified individuals are needed in the field, as well as how much pay can be expected to be paid out over the course of a single year.

Since the early 2000’s, there has been a dire need of qualified individuals in the field of computer engineering and technologies, and that need has remained consistent as we have moved from the early 2000’s and almost into the third decade of the millennium. Now in 2017, we have turned a bit of a corner and have come up with a need that has always been there but now in the spotlight –humanitarian professionals.

Professionals in the fields of medicine, education, and betterment for all has come into the light as needed professions, but that is not all.

Here are the jobs that you can expect to see at the tops of the lists for best career choices for 2017.

Medicine

Although the digital age is upon us, there is an ambitious push for practicing medical professionals in the field. Doctors, nurses, dentists, surgeons, pediatricians and nutritionists are all just a few examples of the kind of practices that are in demand right now, and the need does not look like it will be going away anytime soon in the future.

The need for this profession in 2017 is high because in the most recent years, the amount of turnover in the field has become higher. Issues like job dissatisfaction from too heavy of a workload to the stresses and anxiety that some work situations could entail have caused working medical professionals to step away from the field. Although the work is demanding in the medical profession, it certainly earns a higher salary than most other careers, raking in an average of 200,000 dollars a year. How’s that for reasonable pay?

Computer Systems Analyst

Since the early 90’s and up to today, there has been a boom in the field of computer technologies. Individuals who can not only design new systems, but interact, modify, and perform maintenance on such technologies is a practice that is not set to disappear anytime soon. Jobs like

Web developer, Database administer, and Network systems administrator are just a few high profile titles, but just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the kinds of occupations available. Granted, this line of work is not for the impatient and thrill seeking, as a majority of the jobs are spent behind the desk and gazing into the glow of a computer screen. This lack of rushing around may cause some to deter from this line of work, but it comes with enough career movement and job security that it becomes an appealing profession for a huge majority of job seekers, especially in today’s workforce.

Although getting a degree in the field of computer science is certainly a step in the right direction, computer technicians may need to earn other forms of certificates to further along their effort of securing jobs. Big Data and Hadoop Certification are just an example of the kinds of practices that offer nothing but benefits to those seeking employment in the field, and there are many other certifications available out there, so be sure to do some digging when it comes to learning how you can make yourself more desirable in the field.

Becoming certified in areas like Big Data and Hadoop are critical because it pushes you ahead of the pack. When there are over a hundred applicants all hunting for the same computer science job, all it takes is a few choice certifications to make you all the more desirable for hiring managers.

Getting certifications doesn’t mean that you have to head back to school by any means, because earning more certifications can be as easy as taking a class online pretty painlessly. In about 40 hours’ worth of online classes, can tag the tile of “certified” to your resume, and in the realm of computer science, that is a glowing feature to add. Definitely something to look into if you are eager to break into the realm of computer science and engineering.

Chemists and Bio Engineers

The realm of science as it applies to natural life is another line of work that is needing capable people. Studying life sciences as they interact with the rest of the natural world may remind you of your time in high school biology classes, but the professional world of science as compared to the classroom is incomparable. True to life applications of tools and knowledge will certainly keep you busy and interested in your day to day tasks that genuinely result in a difference for the rest of the world, making this a career path that is one certainly worth taking.

This line of work does require particular advanced degrees in biology, so be prepared to spend more time in this realm in college before you graduate if you want to have an easier go at getting a break into the field. The average salary of a biophysics engineer is 90 thousand a year.

Financial Analysts

As long as there is big business making money, there will be a need for someone to count it. The line of work we know as Finance is an appealing one because it comes with a lot of career movement possible for those who are lucky enough to break in. Job titles like financial analysts, and accounting are just the two most common names that come to mind, and both of those have tons of variants within them.

This line of work has been known to offer a fair amount of job security, and also offer a median salary of around 100 thousand dollars a year.

A lot of the job field has not changed in terms of brand new jobs offered, but there certainly is more of a need in the fields of medicine and science than ever before. The work may be more difficult and strenuous than an office job, but the pay certainly more than compensates as well as the job security.

Choosing a career field for you may be a difficult one, but breaking down what values you have that can be applied to you in a professional way helps to point you in the right direction. Which path do you think is best for you?
