Julie Bigham Eggers to Push for Concealed Carry Law in Illinois by Revealing ‘Eggers-Stands-With-You.com’
Republican Candidate for State Representative Julie Bigham Eggers is pushing for a concealed carry law in Illinois through an online petition effort. The website explains the facts about why concealed carry has not became law in Illinois.
For years, Chicago political bosses have refused to uphold our constitutional rights. Illinois is the only state in the nation that has no procedures in place for law-abiding citizens to apply for concealed carry permits. Our citizens should have the right to defend their families and property from violent criminals.
“Unbelievably, Illinois is the last State in the United States that does not allow for law abiding citizens to legally carry a weapon for self-defense,” said Julie Bigham Eggers. As we all know, the current gun laws are ineffective at taking guns out of the hands of criminals, and only serve to limit a person’s ability to protect themselves & their families. Our Constitution is clear about our Right to Bear Arms – it is in the Second Amendment. Further, recent Supreme Court rulings have held that laws that infringe on this right are considered unconstitutional. These rulings and demands from the people, have led all other states to come to the realization, that this is a right that needs to be protected, and not infringed upon. As your State Representative, I pledge to support measures that protect this fundamental right of American Citizens.”
