Republican National Committee Airs TV Ad “Not Working”

WASHINGTON - The Republican National Committee independent expenditure is out with a new TV ad today “Not Working.” It contrasts President Obama’s claim that his plan to fix the economy has worked with the reality that things are worse today than when he took office.

“President Obama thinks his plan to fix our economy has worked,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “Yet, 23 million are out of work, need more work, or have stopped looking for work; unemployment has been above 8% for over 40 months; and food stamps are up 45%. The reality is President Obama’s plan has not worked; the American people know that; and it’s time to elect America’s Comeback Team to get America back on track.”

ANNOUNCER: “President Obama’s first term.”

PRESIDENT OBAMA: “We tried their plan…We tried our plan… And it worked.”

ANNOUNCER: “Over twenty three million unemployed, underemployed or have given up hope. Unemployment over eight percent for forty straight months. And a forty-five percent increase in the number of people who need food stamps.”

PRESIDENT OBAMA: “We tried our plan… And it worked.”

ANNOUNCER: “If President Obama’s plan worked, how come so many Americans aren’t working?”
