The first two installments of this series – a series intended to remind mainstream Americans of the near-lawlessness of the past four years during the Obama administration – generally dealt with the idea that the main players in this regime were clearly playing for keeps from the get-go. It seems pretty safe to say that in a country that has always been center-right, those who espouse a more liberal view of American politics have always (to greater or lesser degrees) had to keep to themselves what they felt were their superior thoughts regarding our political system, our culture, and our society. Now, with the White House and super-majorities in both houses of Congress, the liberal, Democratic establishment put the pedal to the metal in an effort to ram through measures for which they’d been waiting for at least a couple of generations.
Part two left off with Barack Obama’s incomprehensible decisions to bow to the Saudi king and to begin a world-wide tour, during which he largely apologized to the rest of the civilized world for the attitude of his fellow countrymen.
Now that’s noble.
May 14, 2009 – In what could only be termed a mind-boggling, truly weird performance, Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, in trying to address her claims that she was lied to by the CIA with regard to “enhanced interrogation techniques”, seems disorganized, confused, and panicked as she stumbles through a briefing with the White House press corps. Any rational person watching the briefing couldn’t help but strongly suspect that the Speaker was lying, merely for political expediency.
June, 2009 – Two events take place during this month – one major and the other seemingly minor – that potentially tell us quite a bit about this President’s mindset. The more visible of the two is the eruption of revolutionary violence in Iran, a nation-wide protest of the vast majority of people in that country who simply want their freedoms back and are fighting against the dictatorship in power, sparked by their outrage at the results of what clearly appears to be a corrupted presidential election. The Iranian people manage for a decent amount of time to get the word out to the rest of the world via social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter as to the nature of the violent retaliations on the part of the government. Eventually, however, the government crackdown is complete and dissent is silenced. Many people are killed.
The response from the Obama White House? Silence – until near the end of the month.
It obviously goes without saying that little remains of the integrity of what passes for a mainstream media nowadays, and it wasn’t until near the end of the month – when President Obama finally responded to the events taking place in Iran – that Major Garrett of Fox News (arguably the only honest news service remaining) asked the question that none of the other Obama sycophants in the media are ever willing to ask:
The second of these two events was not nearly as visible but just as important. Manuel Zelaya, the President of Honduras, begins to take actions that the Congress of that country seemingly interprets as his intention to establish himself as the socialist dictator of that country. Under legal orders from that legislative body, Zelaya is removed from power and sent into exile. Strangely, the Obama administration strongly advocates for Zelaya’s re-installment as President, claiming that we “cannot interfere with the democratic process.” Well, Mr. President, it might just be me, but by using the power of the United States government to make such a demand, aren’t you interfering with the legislative authority of that country? Again – that’s just me.
The bigger question persists, however – why would a sitting US President advocate either through silence or demand the continued installment of seeming dictatorships?
Strange.
June 1, 2009 – Two Arkansas National Guardsmen are attacked by an African-American man outside a recruiting center. Both are in their early-20′s. The assailant is a recent convert to Islam. One of the young soldiers is killed, the other is seriously wounded. Both the Obama White House and the media remain silent.
June 19, 2009 – The US Senate “officially” apologizes for slavery. I see. Two problems with this: 1) our Congress has already done this, and 2) don’t you think this would have been more effective, say, oh, I don’t know….maybe right after the Civil War?
Again – I’m just sayin’.
June 19, 2009 – The North Korean Missle Crisis. The little Elvis wanna-be in North Korea plays what is essentially a winning, no-lose hand by sending a ship with highly-suspicious cargo towards Hawaii. The entire world, and most notably the United States, has been on “code red” with regard to North Korea’s nuclear threats for some time. If the US decides to board the ship, it will be declared an act of war by North Korea; further, if the US boards the ship and finds cartons of vegetables instead of nuclear materials, it will be declared an act of war and the US will look foolish. Either way, Elvis wins. The response from the Obama White House? What I have always termed the typical liberal response – do nothing, ignore the problem, and hope that it all goes away. In the end, the United States looks weaker and weaker under President Obama’s stewardship.
The other interesting note to this is that North Korea is a Communist dictatorship, one in which Elvis is literally starving his people.
June 25, 2009 – What remains of the “old guard”, mainstream media continues to demonstrate the degree to which they’ve acquiesced to the leftist indoctrination to which they’ve been subjected over the course of the past two or more generations when ABC agrees to do what is essentially an infomercial on universal health care from the White House.
In a sense, this kicks off what becomes a highly contentious summer of town hall meetings when it becomes apparent that the American people have been fully awakened to the Democrats’ agenda.
Two things should be noted here: 1) the Obama White House certainly understands the manner in which to manipulate the information to which the American public has access, and 2) it was Vladmir Lenin himself who said that control of a society goes through its medical apparatus. Food for thought.
June 25, 2009 – The vaunted Cap & Trade bill passes the House, leading to speculation that it’s only a matter of time before it passes the Senate and becomes law. Fierce push-back from the American people continues throughout the course of the day, as the phone lines into Washington are jammed and the bill only barely passes the vote. The people now understand the score with regard to the Democrats’ agenda generally and the purpose of the Cap & Trade bill more specifically. Purportedly all about “saving the environment”, the bill is in reality intended to do nothing more than drive the price of energy usage through the roof for the average American family and spread the wealth to another generation of people who will vote for and accept handouts/entitlements from the Democratic Party. The purpose of the bill is thrown into further question some months later when emails shared between leading scientists are uncovered that show the “Global Warming” scenario to be nearly entirely a fraud.
This is also the day when Michael Jackson passes away as a result of a mixture of drugs. That’s one heck of a distraction.
June 28, 2009 – David Axelrod, on one of the Sunday morning political shows, can’t make a firm guarantee that President Obama wouldn’t go back on his pledge not to raise income taxes on any family making less than $250,000 per year. Did the majority of the American public actually fall for that? First, the media conveniently hid from the specter of the public that in the previous year, Senators Obama and Biden BOTH voted for legislation to raise the income taxes on families making LESS THAN 42k per year, which, if you’re a socialist, makes complete sense. Otherwise, from where would all of the cash come to fund all of the glorious social programs?
Such information also sheds some further light on the impending “Taxmeggeddon” heading our way on January 1, 2013. I can’t speak for anyone else, obviously, but count me as a whole lot of excited about forking out about another $4,500/year in household taxes. Good times.
July 14, 2009 – During his afternoon program, Glenn Beck exposes an Islamic school that’s located a mere 10 miles from Washington, DC, from which have surfaced two terrorists (one of whom apparently had planned an assassination of President Bush) with whom our federal law enforcement agents have had to deal. This school also refuses to turn over its curriculum and also allows only ‘certain’ inspectors inside. They also, evidently, have detailed illustrations on classroom walls that instruct the children in the proper manner to punish someone via Sharia Law – cutting off a hand or a foot. Our government seems to be doing nothing about this.
July 23, 2009 – Without a doubt, one of the signature moments to date in the relatively young history of this administration. Despite his own admission to the White House press corps and a national television audience that he didn’t have all the details, President Obama “rushes to judgment” and declares that the Cambridge, Massachusetts Police “acted stupidly” in their arrest of his personal friend, Henry Louis Gates.
Mr. Gates, an African-American, is beside himself with anger that he is arrested for – apparently – breaking into his own house as he returned from vacation, having misplaced his keys. The point that Mr. Gates misses, however, is that a neighbor apparently called the police, ostensibly to protect Mr. Gates’s property, since she did not recognize the individual trying to make his way into the house. Of course, this doesn’t stop the sitting President of the United States – the “post-racial president” – from turning a misunderstanding into a fairly serious racial incident.
I can’t speak for anyone else, but never in my life have I seen a President of the United States behave in such a fashion.
July 28, 2009 – One of the most significant fears expressed by common-sense political conservatives prior to and anticipating the election of Barack Obama was his single ability to shape the Supreme Court once in office. Supreme Court nominations are for life; consequently, should President Obama identify any potential justice(s) young enough and who espouse the same hard-leftist outlook as he, President Obama could, in theory, have a decided impact on the shape of the American political landscape for nearly a century. Given that many Supreme Court justices now view their own authority as including making law from the bench, the theoretical damage to the fabric of the American society could be infinite.
Enter Sonia Sotomayor.
Miss Sotomayor is, with the possible exception of Michele Obama and in many, many ways, the female version of President Obama. It became evident, as a result of the analysis of her now famous statement – “I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would, more often than not, reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life” – that Miss Sotomayor viewed the use of racial politics as more legitimate in making Supreme Court decisions rather than the actual law.
She’s there now, and she’s going to be there for a long, long time. As of this writing, conservatives hold a 5-4 edge on the court, which is managing to hold together that element of the American society by a thread (a lot of good it did for America at the end of June of 2012, however). Interestingly, conservative Justice Anthony Kennedy – the man who many feel will probably be the next Justice to step down – has gone on record as saying that he will not retire until President Obama is out of office.
Gee, I wonder why?
If I were Justice Kennedy, I’d seriously consider employing an army of food tasters. I’m just sayin’.
August 6, 2009 – As the summer of health care town halls continues to heat up, a white SEIU thug is filmed violently beating down an African-American man, Kenneth Gladney. As most everyone in America knows by now, the public unions have the Obama administration in their back pocket, as well as the majority of Democrats. When Mr. Gladney – a conservative – was seen outside one of the town hall meetings selling patriotic merchandise, the SEIU took matters into their own hands. Mr. Gladney is seriously injured in the process.
Let’s see now – a white man viscously attacking a black man – wait – isn’t that a “hate crime”? Strangely, the mainstream media (with the obvious exception of Fox News, which immediately comes to the defense of Mr. Gladney) and the NAACP are eerily silent on this matter.
Geez – one might think that the media ignored it because the issue didn’t fit their political narrative. But that would never happen; the media is, after all, “honest and objective”.
That’s a joke. Just like the media.
