With the election one week away, candidates are criss-crossing their districts in search of votes. South Dakota Congresswoman Kristi Noem met with business owners, and locals, in Elk Point, today, to talk about issues affecting their community. She says the stop is part of her “Farm, Families and Friends” tour. She's very aware of how important stops like these are to her constituents.
“A lot of this area is looking at some economic opportunities that could come into the region, you also have a lot of elderly folks who struggling with high electricity bills they're also struggling to get by on social security and maybe a little it of dividends that might be coming in. So they're wondering about how much costs are gonna go up,” Rep. Noem said.
Noem says people are worried about a tax hike, and an increase in the cost of living.
