Republican Congressman continues to earn broad-based support
Evesham, October 15, 2012 – Congressman Jon Runyan earned two more key endorsements today when the NE Regional Council of Carpenters and the Fraternal Order of Police announced their support, said the campaign.
Plagued by bad polling numbers, Shelley Adler’s campaign has been abandoned by national Democrats in recent weeks who have all but thrown in the towel on her campaign for Congress, which has been heavy on trite, partisan talking points and completely lacking in substance.
Leaders from the FOP and Carpenters praised Runyan as a common-sense, bipartisan legislator who has his finger on the pulse of what is important to the people of Burlington and Ocean counties.
“The New Jersey Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police is proud to endorse Jon Runyan’s candidacy for Congress in the Third Congressional District of New Jersey,” said Ed Brannigan, President of the NJ State FOP. “Jon’s record is proof positive that he is about seeking bipartisan solutions that help first responders and reduce crime in our community. We look forward to working with him to ensure New Jersey’s police force has the tools they need to keep our neighborhoods safe.”
“Over the past two years, Jon has worked to find solutions to help increase job opportunities for union carpenters and to get our economy back on track in New Jersey,” said NE Regional Council of Carpenters Executive-Secretary Treasurer Mike Capelli. “During his term, Jon has proven to be an independent thinker, and willing to work with everyone in order to ensure the best possible solutions for New Jersey. The Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters is proud to endorse Jon’s candidacy for Congress in NJ-3. We look forward to working with him in the future”
“While my opponent continues to run a campaign completely lacking in any positive, substantive ideas for tackling the problems facing our country, I am proud to be endorsed by a broad-based group of organizations representing middle-class families, small business owners and conservationists who are willing to work across party lines to get us headed in the right direction again,” said Rep. Runyan. “I look forward to continue working with all of them to improve the quality of life for people in Burlington and Ocean counties.”
