Reminds South Dakota That Varilek Agrees With President Obama On Just About Everything
Rapid City – Reminding South Dakotans that Matt Varilek has said he is “in line with the President on a great many issues,” Kristi Noem tied her opponent to the failed policies of Barack Obama at today’s debate sponsored by the Rapid City Journal. During the portion of the debate where candidates asked each other questions, Kristi gave Varilek several examples about how this administration has harmed South Dakota, and then asked her opponent to give three reasons why he feels the President deserves a second term. Varilek failed to provide a single example.
“When you consider just how hostile President Obama has been to South Dakota, it boggles the mind to think that Matt Varilek supports this president and his failed policies,” said Tom Erickson, Noem’s campaign manager. “If Matt Varilek gets to Washington, he promises to be a rubberstamp for the same failed policies that gave us a government takeover of healthcare, $5 trillion in new debt and the weakest economic recovery in modern times.”
Throughout the debate, Kristi highlighted instances where Barack Obama and Matt Varilek see eye to eye, including the President’s healthcare takeover, higher taxes, more spending, greater government regulation and a cap-and-trade national energy tax.
