One kilowatt hour of electricity, produced by 100% coal, produces one kilogram (2.2 pounds) of carbon dioxide!

However, the same kilowatt hour of electricity, produced by hydro electric power, only creates 4 grams of carbon dioxide.

Therefore, electricity produced by coal produces 250 times more CO2 emissions than by hydro electricity!
