Carol asks…
The local govt and companies in my area are teaming up to offer big discounts/rebates on solar panels. And YES …. I know the ROI on solar panels is several years but how much do you SAVE on your electricity bill since you bought solar panels for your home?
Henry Dover answers:
First of all there are two types of solar panels off grid & on grid are available.
On-grid system is mainly used for users who want to sell electricity to the government. All the electricity generated from the solar panel shall be transmitted to the grid network directly which will then allocate the electric energy to electricity users.
Where as, Off Grid Solar Panel is mainly used in areas where access to the grid is unavailable or where electricity price is very high. It’s composed of solar panels, controller, inverter, battery bank, solar panel mounting racks, and other accessories required for complete system.
Means off grid solar panels best for home use. Solar panel comes between 10 watts to 350 watts. So you just compare your monthly use electricity and watts of solar panel you want to use in your home. For more you can see:

Maria asks…
I live in Sydney and was wondering how much solar panels would cost, initial price, installation and insurance on the panels, enough so they would be able to cover the average home power usage
Henry Dover answers:
Cost of solar panel systems attached to the grid without batteries will run you about $15k after removing the rebates.
