Interview with Hell’s Addiction.

This band is from one of the greatest rock n’ roll countries of all time! The home of David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath…the list goes on! The United Kingdom (U.K.). I would describe this band as pure epicness! The music reminds me of a ‘new age’ ACDC. VERY COOL! Check out what they had to say about their new album and their all time PARTY ESSENTIALS!

Retro Rose: Who are all the bitchin band members and who plays what?

Ben Sargent – Guitars / Lead Vocals

Jason Green – Bass / Vocals

Liam Sargent – Lead Guitar / Vocals

Luke ‘Headache‘ Morley – Drums

Retro Rose: Where are you guys from?
Ben: ‘We are all from sunny Leicester, in the UK.’

Retro Rose: How did you guys get together and start a band?

Ben: ‘We were all locals at the same brothel…’

Luke: ‘Me, Liam and Ben were in a band before this one. Jay asked Liam if he fancied a jam, so he asked Me and Ben. We went down for the first jam and pretty much wrote the 2 songs Breaking Free and Let The Good Times Roll and the rest is history!’

Retro Rose: How did Hell’s Addiction become the name of the band?

Ben: ‘Think Jay came up with it whilst pulling one off!’

Jason: ‘Hell’s Addiction came about while I was out running and just thought of the name…’

Luke: ‘Yeah, this came from Jay’s strange and exotic mind … we were originally called Motherlode for one gig only!’

Retro Rose: Do you guys have a CD out?

Liam: ‘The album Raise Your Glass is already recorded and in the can, we’re looking at Feb/March 2013 as official release date of the album.’

Do you guys have any past musical influence in your songs?

Ben: ‘We’re influenced by a hell of a lot of different bands and artists and believe that comes through in our music, a real mix of 70′s/80′s rock slightly revamped.’

Liam: ‘Too many to name them all, we love bands like guns n roses, tesla, through to classic rock bands such as ac dc, aerosmith – so quite a few old skool bands thrown in there which we kick around and give a modern day take on to form the Hell’s Addiction sound!’

Luke: ‘We all bring a different music genre each also – I bring the 90s nu metal era and a lot of heavier metal influences: metallica, blink 182, lamb of god, black label society.’

What shows have you guys played?

Liam: ‘We’ve supported bands such as the quireboys, heavy metal kids, voodoo sixx, bonafide.’

Ben: ‘We’ve played many shows already, one of the ones that sticks out is probably the 100 Club in London because of the history of that venue.’

Your band’s going to Vegas (or wherever the big party place is in the UK) – What 3 party essential must you have to succeed at having the best party of ALL time?

Jason: ’1/ My Friends 2/ Stacks of Cash 3/ An injection of Adrenalin in case of emergencies!’

Liam: ‘My 3 party essentials consist of Fireball Whiskey, Cigarettes, Money.’

Ben: ‘A big wallet, a fully stocked bar and many many women!’

Luke: ‘BEER, WOMEN and MY BEARD!’

If you could chose a band to tour with who would it be?

Ben: ‘Think it would have to be AC/DC.’

Jason: ‘..or WASP’

Liam: ‘Kiss, AC/DC, a reunited Guns n Roses.’

Luke: ‘hmmmm….Iron Maiden!!’

Lastly, when’s your next upcoming show?

Liam: ‘Our next show is at the Sumo Bar in our hometown of Leicester on Nov the 17th.’
