While staring at this image, I was struck by how simple it can be to radically reframe what is possible, if you just slightly change your perspective, or maybe erase a few letters.
This photo came through my social media feed via Cristina Morales in Guadalajara, Jalisco; it reminds me of joyful exuberance, and the message gives me hope. Memories of childhood glee, soaring into the air on a swing, being physical and alive, come flooding into my brain. I am reminded of the fun and thrill of riding a bicycle and being outside, not locked into a mobile metal coffin, ceaselessly searching for a concrete place to park.
On this first day of Kwanzaa, we celebrate Umoja, or togetherness and unity. Perhaps today we can all join together and go for a walk, while we begin reframing our entrenched paradigms, and create something truly amazing that we never before thought was possible?
