LAKOS Announces First Winner In iPad Photo Contest

A photo of a LAKOS Separator system cleaning a cooling tower at a Disney Resort is the first winner of an iPad2 in the  “Where in the World is a LAKOS Solution?” Photo Contest. The winning photographer — John Juckiewicz — took the winning photo at the Aulani Disney Spa and Resort in Hawaii, where a LAKOS Filtration System (three TowerClean TCI-0280-SRV-PE) is keeping the cooling towers clean of dirt and grit, saving energy and reducing the risk of Legionella.

Program Guidelines

Monthly finalists are selected to compete against each other in the quarterly contest for a chance to win an iPad2. The first Grand Prize winner was selected from the ten finalists from May and June. Photo entries ranged from a LAKOS separator installed in the Himalayas, to one installed at a luxury resort in Hawaii, to the desert of Arizona and the industrial processes in Chile. Judging by LAKOS management is based upon (a) the quality of the photograph and the (b) application details supplied by the photographer.

Due to the fierce competition, LAKOS also selected photographs for 2nd and 3rd place, which are:

• 2nd Place: Photographer Frank Toves for a photo of a set of ProII carbon steel media filters with an IHB sand separator (BRS system) in Los Alamos, CA.
  

• 3rd Place (tie): Photographer Nita Gulbas for a photo of a SandMasterPLUS and a TwistIIClean filter AND photographer Henry Quilhot for a photo of three JPX systems at a plant in Chile.

July-August-September Contest Has Begun
The contest continues each month through the end of the 2011, with five monthly finalists selected at the end of every month, and the Grand Prize (iPad2) awarded each quarter to the best of the entries. The July monthly competiton is under way, and the deadline is July 31. Subsequent monthly winners will be chosen after August and September entries are judged. The next iPad winner will be announced in October.
