Ongoing Major River Floods (Based on Satellite observation): Afghanistan (Amu Darya), Australia (Darling), Bolivia (Madre de Dios), Brazil (Tocantins), Chad (N Djamena), China (Mekong and Huang He), Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ubangi), Dominican Republic, Honduras, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq (Shatt al Arab and Tigris), Kenya (Tana), Philippines, Sudan (Blue Nile, White Nile), Syria (Euphrates), Tanzania.

  • Flooding in La Jolla, Southern California
    -High tide in La Jolla caused flooding in coastal area of southern California.
    -’King Tides’ were also expected to come in to La Jolla at 6.9 feet at 8:01 a.m in San Diego.

  • Today is the third anniversary of Haiti earthquake. There are still more than 350,000 people living in the camps displaced by Haiti earthquake in January 12, 2010. Haiti’s government said the quake killed about 316,000 people.
  • A huge sunspot known as AR1654 produced the M1-class flare. The sun is in an active phase of its current 11-year weather cycle, which scientists call Solar Cycle 24. The sun’s activity cycle is expected to reach its peak (or “solar maximum”) in 2013.
