Forest fire in Gulmi, Nepal

Finally the fire in Resunga jungles of Gulmi is under control. Around 500 security personnel from Nepal Police, Nepal Army, Armed Police Force with the help of local took forest fire in control.

A fire has broke out in Resunga forest in Gulmi district of Nepal.

It is currently burning in Nunamare, Paralmi and Dhago Danda area of Resunga forest, The Himalayan Times mentions.

Forest fire in Gulmi has already burned 800 hectares.

 The Gulmi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has called Tamghas market banda to bring forest fire under control.

Gulmi district has no fire engines to control the fire.

The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) and the Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation (MoFSC) launched forest fire detection and monitoring system in Nepal today. It claims to provide near real-time detection of forest fires in Nepal.
