epiaThe European Union’s NER300 programme, which funds innovative low-carbon energy demonstration projects, has issued a new call for proposals. EPIA monitoring has found that it includes several potential funding opportunities for PV projects.

Published on 3 April, the call for proposals includes the following subcategories of projects that can compete for funding:

  • Large-scale concentrator photovoltaics power plants with nominal capacity 20 MWe [PVa] with an AC system efficiency of 28% or higher
  • Large scale multi-junction Si-thin-film photovoltaic power plants with nominal capacity 40 MWe [PVb] with a module area efficiency of 11% or higher, and an AC system efficiency of 8.5% or higher
  • Large scale CIGS-based photovoltaics power plants with nominal capacity 40 MWe [PVc] with a module area efficiency of 16% or higher, and an AC system efficiency of 13% or higher

An indicative timetable for the call has been published:

3 April 2013 Call for Proposals published
3 months from publication of Call for Proposals Member States submit Proposals to the EIB
Up to 12 months from publication of Call for Proposals, subject to the number of Project Applications Selection assessment, notably EIB Due Diligence assessment
Up to 17 months from publication of Call for Proposals, subject to the number of Project Applications Ranking list, confirmation and Award Decision
