(Before It's News)

Apr 6, 2013 – Japan is rethinking their nuclear reactor strategy since the tsunami destruction.  How  many nuclear reactors are working in the US?  If you said 104 you are correct.  How many years were these nuclear reactors designed to continue working?  40 years.  That seems like a long time when you start it up.  Now in 2013 the average age of the 104 plants is 32 years.  Forty doesn’t seem like such a long life-span when the average age is 32.  It is a lot easier to decommission a coal-fired electricity plant than a nuclear power plant.  What is going to happen over the next 10 years? Is there an old nuclear  power plant near where you live? Please leave your comments here.
