The Obama Environmental Protection Agency is now pushing to be granted the authority to take your paycheck should you be found by them to be a “polluter.”  This would more closely align the EPA with the IRS, currently the only other government agency with that power.

The Washington Times has this to say about the until now, unprecedented expansion of EPA authority:

The Environmental Protection Agency  has quietly floated a rule claiming authority to bypass the courts and unilaterally garnish paychecks of those accused of violating its rules.

The EPA has been flexing its regulatory muscle under President Obama, collecting more fines each year and hitting individuals with costly penalties for violating environmental rules, including recently slapping a $75,000 fine on Wyoming homeowner Andy Johnson for building a pond on his rural property.

The Andy Johnson example is but one of many the EPA has inflicted on private property owners in recent years.  It, along with the Bureau of Land Management, has been pushing for continued expansion of federal government influence and power, all at the expense of individual property rights.
