(Before It's News)

In honor of World Environment Day, the Church of Scientology held a community discussion to promote awareness of and solutions for bettering the world we all live in. Guests discussed community gardens, what can be done to lessen pollution and waste, the best practices for planting trees and more.

The Church of Scientology focuses on environmental efforts through the social betterment program, The Way to Happiness, based on the book of the same name written by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard.

Rev. Brian Fesler, pastor of the Nashville church says, “We all can do more to help make the city a greener, more beautiful and cleaner place to live.”

The Way to Happiness program is predicated on the fact that one’s survival depends on the survival of others—and that without the survival of others, neither joy nor happiness are attainable. One of the concepts in the booklet is “Safeguard and Improve Your Environment,” which reads in part: “The idea that one has a share in the planet and that one can and should help care for it may seem very large and, to some, quite beyond reality. But today what happens on the other side of the world, even so far away, can effect what happens in your own home.”

The open house began with Fesler showing a portion of the Way to Happiness book on film, the section “Take Care of the Planet.” This resonated with those attending as it detailed what can and should be done by all to take care of the Earth. It ended with, “…Man has gotten up to the potential of destroying the planet. He must be pushed on up to the capability and actions of saving it. It is, after all, what we’re standing on.”

Next followed a group discussion around the best practices of planting trees and participating in community gardens. There is always time to help care for the environment, and it starts in one’s own neighborhood. What do these cultists care about the planet?
Their sea org tub in the Caribbean dumps their waste illegally in Bonaire.
They think they are controlled by extraterrestrial critters and only their soup can contraption can ‘clear’ them of the bugs.
Nutty, nutty group seeking any publicity they can.
