(Before It's News)

A heat wave set a record in Germany as 104.54 Fahrenheit was measured in Kitzingen, northern Bavaria, on Sunday afternoon.
“It is the highest level in Germany since measurements began in 1881,” Associated Press reported. Weather service spokesman Uwe Kirsche said AP that the record would be official only after technicians manually check the station.

The previous record of 104.3 degrees Fahrenheit was measured in the southwestern city of Karlsruhe in 2003.
