Flash floods in Lubango kills 24 Angolans; 30 reported missing

Flash floods at Tchioco neighbourhood, in Lubango, southern Huila province of Angola have claimed lives of at least 24 people.
According to a press release from the Civil Affairs Office to the Presidency of the Republic, 24 people died when the Capitão river bridge collapsed as a result of the rains. 

According to the state media, Angop news agency, heavy rains hit the capital of southern Huíla province, Lubango, flooding the Capitão river and destroying the bridge at Tchioco neighbourhood. 
More than 30 people were believed to be missing, following the rains, Angop said.
