Emergency declared after flooding in Macedonia kills 21

Government has declared a state of emergency after torrential rain and floods claimed lives of at least 21 people and left six others missing in Macedonia.
A storm with strong winds and flooding hit Skopje and the western parts of the country on August 6, 2016. According to the Macedonia's weather service,  around 93 l/sqm fell in two hours on Skopje, which is equivalent to the average for an entire month of August.

“This is a catastrophe of unprecedented magnitude,” Deputy Prime Minister Nikola Todorov told Reuters.
