The overall goal or aim of the event was to standardize the environmental laws by organizing the executive and regulatory bodies to achieve sustainable development. Amongst the attendees of the conference were Supreme Court judges NV Ramana and Justice R Banumathi. They encouraged activists and other experts to turn to the courts for justice as it is important to understand the need for accountability of experts in such situations. A presentation presented by Vellore C Srinivasan, founder of Indian Green Service caught the eye of many who were present at the conference. In his presentation, Srinivasan threw light on the subject by saying that before worrying about how waste can be disposed, it is important to realize that waste if disposed of immediately, can solve most of the problems when it comes to waste management in the current scenario. Mr. Srinivasan also enlightened the attendees by pointing out that if garbage is collected in the first six hours, it can be used for compost. Public servants also play an important role when it comes to waste management systems. The rise in industries has led to dumping of large quantities of harmful garbage leading to hazardous environmental effects such as global warming. The overall aim of the conference was to promote awareness related to domestic and industrial waste management systems and to look for solutions to address the problem.
