Dutch Gas Field Earthquake Dangers Ignored; New EU Rules for Greener Cooking

Earthquake dangers in Dutch gas field were ignored for years. An independent Dutch safety panel has found that the operators of Europe’s largest natural gas field, Royal Dutch Shell and Exxon Mobil, as well as the Dutch government, for years ignored the dangers posed by earthquakes in the field.

EU introduces new rules to make cooking greener. The sale of energy wasting ovens and cooking hobs will be banned across the European Union after the latest set of rules to make household appliances more efficient takes effect from Friday.
