1, Tommy Robinson: CPS investigating possible retrial of ex-EDL leader for assault charge
Tommy Robinson could be dragged back to court to face a charge of assault after prosecutors said they may seek a retrial. The former leader of the English Defence League (EDL) had been accused of attacking a fellow inmate in 2015 while serving a sentence for mortgage fraud in Peterborough Prison.
Robinson, who now helps lead anti-Islam group Pegida UK, appeared in Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on 14 April for trial, having crowdfunded £24,000 for a legal defence from his supporters. The case against the 33-year-old, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, collapsed after Robinson’s QC successfully argued the trial could not continue because of failures in providing evidence. […] Robinson had admitted to punching the inmate concerned but claimed it was self-defence. He said a fellow prisoner warned him he was going to be attacked with a cup of boiling water after a group of Muslim inmates allegedly offered a reward for anyone who assaulted him. Robinson’s alleged assault was caught on prison CCTV.

2. French bus drivers ‘told to count migrants’
Bus drivers for the Twisto transport company in Caen, northern France, have been told to keep a tally of how many migrants ride their bus, reported the Normandy arm of the France Bleu channel.The bus line runs from the centre of Caen to the Ouistréham ferry terminal (see map below), which in recent months has become a port to where more and more migrants are heading in an attempt to get to the UK.The channel reported that memos had been passed among the drivers with boxes to tick marked “Number of migrants inspected” and “Number of migrants booked” (see below).
Three siblings authorities feared could be forced to go abroad to get married or fight alongside extremists have been taken into care in central Sweden.
The children, who were all living in the city of Örebro, were in danger of being brainwashed by adults in Sweden connected to the extremist group Isis, according to a municipal court ruling.
The court heard that the trio, who are all understood to have the same father, were at “very high risk” of being taken abroad by him to either be trained as soldiers or forced into marriage. It ruled that the children should be taken into care by Örebro municipality, in the first decision of its kind in the region.
The move follows a number of similar cases in Gothenburg, in which other children and young people have been placed with social services amid fears that they were also at risk of being influenced by radical groups.

5. Vienna rape suspect floored by female prison guard
The 16-year-old asylum seeker had attacked the female prison warden but chose the wrong target because she was an experienced martial arts expert and swiftly put the aggressive young man out of action.
He was then carried back to his cell by her colleagues.
The teenager is one of three who accused of the brutal sex attack in a public toilet in Vienna’s Praterstern station.
The trio were arrested after they had followed a 21-year-old student into the women’s toilets, and then used a coin to open the door lock while she was inside. They are accused of then pinning her down and raping her.

Nihad Baraka claims Dhar held her as an ISIS sex slave
Nihad Barakat revealed the warped ISIS executioner Siddhartha Dhar is now one of the most senior commanders among foreign fighters in Mosul, Islamic State’s Iraqi stronghold.
Dhar, a former bouncy castle salesman, has been touted as the new Jihadi John after appearing in a vile ISIS propaganda video earlier this year.
The 34-year-old, who was arrested six times for terrorism-related offences, reportedly used Government hand-outs to fund his trip to Syria.
Ms Barakat says he has since taken a number of Yazidi sex slaves for himself.

Labour was plunged into a fresh race row last night over an extraordinary slur against moderate Muslims by its London mayoral candidate.
Sadiq Khan was branded unfit to be London Mayor after it emerged that he had described moderate Muslim groups as ‘Uncle Toms’ – a notorious racial slur used against black people to suggest that they are subservient to whites.
The incendiary claim emerged in a 2009 interview with Iranian-backed Press TV, when Mr Khan was ‘minister for community cohesion’, in charge of Government efforts to stamp out extremism.
The revelation is a major blow for Mr Khan, who has faced a string of claims about his past dealings with Muslim extremists during the bitter campaign to succeed Boris Johnson.
