A loud, jarring explosion was heard all over Baltimore Tuesday afternoon after a train reportedly derailed near Rosedale, WJZ reports.

Police and fire officials are responding to the scene. A massive plume of smoke can be seen rising from the scene.

Twitter immediately lit up with reports and photos from the explosion, including one from Megan Comeau.

This is a developing story. More to come.

Just breaking, will post updates as more info comes out.

Update: It appears the train hit a semi. What’s strange is the white smoke, the helicopter pilot keeps calling it phosphorous, and it looks like the explosion to place down the tracks from where the truck was hit, as you can see the

building next to where the fire is is heavily damaged.

  • Should be noted Warren Buffet had enormous investments in trains…. All of sudden now all these trains are crashing and have to be rebuilt. You decide!

    Thanks, Obama.

  • Isn’t this like the third train accident in about a week? What’s up with that? I’m guessing we’ll never hear the real story on any of these “accidents”.
