(Before It's News)

texting while drivingWhen most teens are text-aholic and just can’t separate themselves from their cell phones; texting while driving is taking a most damaging shape. Now if you are a parent and often find your child engrossed with the phone, you seriously need to check if texting is going hand in hand with driving in your child’s life.

You can’t take it lightly as it is much more than just dangerous to send text messages while driving.  In fact, according to accident stats, there are more cases of vehicular crashes because of mobile use while driving compared to the accidents taking place because of other factors like drunk driving.

Two major reasons why you need to do every possible thing to stop your child from texting from behind the steering wheels.

It is wrong and against the traffic rules in most places

Yes, it has already got the ‘illegal’ and ‘unacceptable’ marks at several places and most traffic authorities consider it wrong.  Now, if your child is caught texting or using the cell phone for any other reason while driving, it can lead to some kind of fine or minor compensations or even confiscation of the cell phone.  If you don’t want your child to pay fine to get the phone back, better make sure that your child isn’t breaking the traffic rules and is avoiding cell phone use while driving.

It leads to accidents that can be life threatening

But it is not just a fine or serious traffic rule alone because of which you need to make sure that your child isn’t using the phone while driving. Accidents are fatal. Sometimes they are so powerfully bad that lead to death of the driver and even the others inside the car and others around the road that are in close proximity of the vehicle that has crashed into other vehicles. If you don’t want your child to lose life or feel guilty for leading to somebody else’s death, you’ll make sure your child isn’t using cell phone while driving.

How to stop your child from getting into life threatening mischief?

Make your child follow – no texting while driving or no car and no cell phone- rule

Let your child know about the consequences – starting from the penalties because of breaking the traffic rules to the life threatening accidents and the ways in which they are going to affect your child’s life. And if this doesn’t work, simply set your no-texting-while-driving rule and make it really clear with your child that either you’ll take away the cell phone or disallow the car if there’s a break in the rule.

Track your child’s phone to check exactly when she is texting

This is going to work in every condition and prove most helpful if your child tells a lie and continues mixing cell phone usage with vehicle driving. With a powerful cell phone tracking app, you’ll get to know when your child is really texting and to whom and all the other communication details starting from call logs, mails, chat and so on. And with GPS tracking feature you’ll get to make out when exactly your child was around a particular place, this will be a great way to make out if your child has been driving rash around somewhere and texting in the meanwhile.
