Childbirth in Bolivia’s High Plains. Social marginalization and mistrust of modern medicine have caused high infant mortality rates among indigenous communities in Bolivia. Efforts over the last 10 years seek to stem the crisis while respecting traditions.

 

Burma: Upper House Approves Population Control Bill. A bill which limits child births to one baby per mother every three years was passed by the upper house of Burma’s parliament.
