I just received email notification that Nightmarriage is officially a finalist for the Los Angeles, California-based “Shirley You Jest! Book Awards!” Hooray!
The judges of the contest write, “From his explanation of the title (no, it’s not about getting married at night) to his explanation of his wife’s lost phone (she’s a black hole), Nightmarriage is a witty, well-written discussion of marriage and all the little things no one tells you on your wedding day.”
See the list of the four finalists in each category (fiction and non-fiction) here. Winners will be announced November 1, 2013 (National Author’s Day)!
Read the official press release here.
According to the award website, “The Shirley You Jest! Book Awards honor books by self-published and traditionally-published indie authors that ‘deliver the funny.’ Publicity-based prizes are awarded to the 1st & 2nd place winners.”
Keep your fingers, toes, and eyes crossed, folks!
