Mama,
I love you t-h-i-i-i-s-s-s much!
You gave birth to me, so I know I’ll always be your little stinker. (Remember when I practiced my disco skunk moves before trick ‘r’ treating with Emma and Logan back in October?)
You give me a place to live. Although I sometime act like I would rather live in a box—a shoe box, no less—I love my house! Thank you for working so hard to give me shelter!
Whenever I think about you, Mama, I just feel like dancing.
Other times I feel like ripping my shirt off at the dinner table and cheering just because I have your genes!
You “train” me in the way I should go, in accordance with Proverbs 22:6.
You teach me how to dress! Without you, how would I ever be this f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s???
You fed me as if I were a baby goat …
Which helped me learn how to feed myself. I’ve pretty much got it down cold. Also, my tongue has a life of its own.
Remember that time I had a nightmare about hippos stomping around in my room, singing? When I’m scared, you make me feel safe and loved.
You give me just the right amount of hugs, although I would always welcome more.
When I think about how much you love me, I just turn to mush and smile and giggle and bring my hands to my chin in a completely adorable manner. As if I’m being photographed by Daddy. Who is awesome.
But not as awesome as you. Because you and me … well, we’re royalty. I know you don’t like pink or princesses, but I do. And you’re my Queen Mama, and I’m your Princess Evie.
But never call me Princess Evie! You know better, Mama! Call me “Baby Puppy” or I will shout at you like this!!!
You electrify my life, Honey Honey! (Note: “Honey Honey” is Evie’s name for her mama.)
At the end of the day, you’re the milkshake in my Steak ‘n’ Shake cup. The sweetness that sustains me. Daddy’s okay, but you’re Mama. How could Daddy ever compete?
With you, I always feel like the cutest pumpkin in the patch!
Let’s cook something up this weekend in our new, matching Mama/Daughter aprons!!! Cookies? Cakes? Both?
