(Before It's News)

Toshiba showed off the world’s thinnest tablet at CES on Sunday, featuring a 10.1-inch screen at a $530 price tag.

The Excite X10 is 7.7mm thin and weighs just 1.2-pounds, making it the lightest tablet on the market so far.
The tablet rivals Apple when it comes to its ports, capable of accepting HDMI cables, USB cables and MicroSD cards.
Toshiba said the device will be available in the middle of the first quarter in both a 16-gigabyte and 32-gigabyte version for $530 and $600.
Excite X10 also comes with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera.
The device mimics the look of Apple’s first-generation iPad with its trimmed-out black front and metal sides.
This will not be the only tablet unveiled at 2012 International CES.  Many companies will be showing off what ideas they have come up with to innovate the industry before Apple announces its iPad 3.
Apple is rumored to be releasing its iPad 3 on February 24, which is the birthday of the company’s co-founder Steve Jobs.  Many have speculated about what the company plans to do in upgrading the world’s most popular tablet.
Regardless of what the company ends up releasing, its initial development of the tablet industry with the first-generation iPad has influenced the designs and ambition of many companies at CES.
