Remember the True Crime series, Activision’s popular sand box cop action game series? It was supposed to have a third installment called True Crime: Hong Kong that got cancelled last year. Well Square Enix acquired it from Activision that same year and have finally announced it today, retitled Sleeping Dogs.
A press release held by Square Enix today revealed that Sleeping Dogs is being re-developed by Square Enix London Studios in collaboration with United Front Games. Square Enix also revealed a trailer (above), but it was strictly live-action (no actual gameplay present).
According to the details, Sleeping Dogs is set in Hong Kong like the canned version and contains gritty martial arts-styled hand-to-hand combat, gunplay and controversial finishers that will make John Woo blush.
We also know that Sleeping Dogs is coming out sometime this year for PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
