(Before It's News)

Photographers, Videographers, and Musicians… This contest is for YOU!

I’m very proud to be a judge in this very cool Driven Creativity Competition 2012 from G-Technology.  There is a $5,000.00 grand prize up for grabs and tons of other cool products from the G-Technology gang.

Unlike some competitions, there is no charge for entering the Driven Creativity Competition 2012.

WINNERS AND PRIZES WILL BE ANNOUNCED AND AWARDED AS FOLLOWS

Shortlisted entrants will be announced via drivencreativity.g-technology.com on Friday, September 28th, 2012

Category Winners and runners up will be announced via drivencreativity.g-technology.com on Friday, October 12th, 2012.

The runner-up of each category will receive a G-DRIVE mobile 1TB (value: $179.99).

The winner(s) of each category will receive a G-DRIVE 4TB (value: $349.99).

The overall winner will be announced on Monday 10th October 2011 during the opening night of the Driven Creativity Exhibition and will be published on www.g-technology.eu/competition on Tuesday 11th October 2011. The overall winner will receive a G-SPEED Q (value: $999.00 and a grant of 5000 Dollars). The overall winner will only receive the overall winner prize and not the category winner prize in addition.

Copyright and Facebook

Since so many artists (myself included) HATE Facebook’s attempt to copyright grab ALL the content you upload to their servers, G-Technology will NOT share any of the submissions on Facebook in this way. Here is what they have to say in the official rules:

HITACHI UPLOADING OF IMAGES AND CONTENT TO FACEBOOK

G-Technology and the Driven Creativity Competition support the Artists Bill of Rights and as such through the organization of this competition G-Technology will not upload any Competition Entry photos directly to the G Technology US Facebook pages so that your images are not uploaded to Facebook’s servers. We will only put thumbnails on the wall, referencing the main images which would be hosted on drivencreativity.g-technology.com.

G-Technology really gets it in terms of showing respect to artists and I’m proud to be associated with them.

Online entry will be available from Thursday, June 14th, 2012 until Monday, September 24th, 2012. Entries received afterwards will not be considered.

There are two competitions actually! One for US residents and one for EU residents. Check out their sites for more details and info please. Unfortunately this year Canadians are not eligible, but I’m trying to convince my friends at G-Technology to change that in future years!

Good luck to all who enter!
