(Before It's News)

I love spending time on trails, be it running, riding a mountain bike, or hiking with the family. The most beautiful trails sit perfectly in the landscape, seeming an inevitable part of nature. But the truth is that trails are incredibly hard work, both to create and to maintain. Not always, but often it is mountain bike groups who take on this burden, at least around here. The following image is a nice reminder of where trails come from, courtesy of the International Bicycling Association (IMBA).
