After rocking MWC 2016, Sony finally looks set to unveil the first of its X series smartphones in India. The company has initiated pre-registrations for its all new Xperia X smartphones, and is soon expected to release their pricing and availability details for would be buyers in the country. The consumers who’ll sign-up and register on company’s India website will be the first ones to know about the pricing and launch offers from Sony. For those who don’t know, Sony marked an end to its Z series by introducing Xperia X, XA, and X Performance at the Mobile World Congress 2016. The three smartphones created a big buzz, but it is important to note that in India, only the first two are up for pre-registrations, leaving Sony Xperia X Performance for a future date, maybe somewhere around September/October. The smartphones are said to offer dual-SIM support, but as of now there is no confirmation on that as well.
Sony Xperia X, XA specs:
Both Sony Xperia X and XA, come in White, Lime Gold, Graphite Black, and Rose Gold colour options, and boast a strong set of internals with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the box. Xperia X, the stronger of the duo, comes with a 5-inch full-HD Triluminos display and makes use of an octa-core Snapdragon 650 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage. The handset also incorporates advanced LTE connectivity and a card slot, which can be used to expand storage up to 200GB. It also bears a 23MP rear f/2.0 camera with 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS sensor, predictive autofocus, and a 13MP front-facing snapper, backed by a 2,620 mAh battery.
Sony Xperia XA, on the other side, comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display powered by Mobile Bravia Engine 2. The handset ships with entry-level internals and makes a decent package with an octa-core MediaTek MT6755 chipset paired with 2 gigs of RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage. It’s lighter than Xperia X at 138 grams, and is paired with 2300 mAh battery.
Though Sony hasn’t given any word for the pricing of Xperia X or Xperia XA, we can expect the same price given in European regions: Xperia X priced at EUR 599 (INR 45,000 approx.) and Xperia XA at EUR 299 (INR 22,550 approx).
