In a 360-degree livestream event, Taiwanese giant Asus will unveil its ZenFones with a new and brilliant design strategy. The company will showcase a much improved ZenFone 3 alongside its Deluxe and Ultra variants. While we already know how this handset looks like, its inside is still a mystery for all of us. And why not? A heavily spec’d device doesn’t turn out to be a performer every time. We’ve seen that with a number of smartphones till date.
Though we’ll bring an in-depth analysis, a quick peek on the ZenFone 3 will give us a head start in understanding what more is on offer. The dual-SIM based device packs strong internals, but its design is something that you don’t see every day- A metal body with glass on both ends. Isn’t it cool? And the credit for this exquisite masterpiece goes only to Asus and its impeccable design engineers!
Asus ZenFone 3 Has the Looks!
Unlike previous models, the latest ZenFone stands out on the design front. It incorporates a beautiful form-factor and makes a great style statement with an all metal construction and Gorilla Glass on the front and back panel. Asus was heavily criticized last year for the dubious design of ZenFone 2 and its siblings. But this time, it looks like the Taiwanese conglomerate has its homework. ZenFone series has never looked so premium and ravishing. It tips on the scale at 7.7mm and ships in Sapphire Black, Shimmer Gold, and Moonlight White.
The Performance
When it comes to performance, the good work of ZenFone 2 continues with its neatly equipped successor. This time, instead of an Intel chipset, a more powerful Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC has been bundled with the handset. This processor might not be as powerful as SD820, but it definitely can do the job without any stutters. Anything you ask, games, apps, movies, music, or just seamless multi-tasking, this phone will deliver top-notch performance right at your fingertips. 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64 gigabytes of inbuilt storage not only upgrades your phone but also matches with the likes of leading players.
Screen
The 5.5-inch screen bundled with ZenFone 3 promises vibrant and crisp visuals. It’s a standard full-HD panel, but the output is just amazing. Punchy colour tones, perfect viewing angles, and more than 400 pixels per inch, all of this put together makes a perfect display for gamers and movie-buffs. You may not like it on paper, but in real world, it’s spectacular. It eats less amount of power and most importantly, retains the quality of output by using Gorilla Glass 3 to keep scratches and external damages at bay.
Revamped ZenUI
Asus has tweaked its ZenUI with new features and custom themes. The heavily bloated OS now runs Android 6.0 on its top and includes a bunch of features from stock Android. It might not look like vanilla Android but things like effective memory management, native support for fingerprint scanning, and Google-Now-On-Tap tell that there’s more to this interface. Asus might have improved ZenUI, but the interface is still quite buggy and bloated.
Camera
After ZenFone Zoom and laser, Asus targets further improved with its neatly equipped ZenFone 3. The dual-SIM based handset bears a 16-megapixel sensor on the back with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection auto-focus, 4-axis OIS, and dual-tone flash. It delivers picture-perfect shots in low-light environments and is well supported by an 8-megapixel sensor on the other end.
The front-facing snapper of ZenFone 3 also works pretty well. It can capture 1080p videos but the selfie-mode with a bunch of filters is the main thing of interest for all selfie fanatics out there!
Connectivity Options and Battery Life
Asus ZenFone 3 incorporates modern connectivity options with Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G, Bluetooth, A-GPS, and USB Type-C reversible connector. It bears a fingerprint scanner on the home-button and also offers support for Indian LTE bands with high-speed 4G access. Even the battery of this handset makes a great package. It features a capacity of 3,000 mAh and lasts for an entire day quite easily.
Seeing all of this, we can easily assume that ZenFone 3 will be a great hit in the Indian market. This handset, if priced adequately, can easily outperform the likes of popular mid-rangers. It has got the good to take down leading giants and will definitely make into our list of best phones of the year. Now, all we have to do is keep our eyes on the event which will be live in a few hours!
