(Before It's News)

Dara’a. Several more tanks stormed the center of the city this morning and heavy fire can be heard. Assad wants to harm Dara’a as much as he possibly can to teach its citizens a lesson for revolting. Obama should have never responded to Assad’s terror with such weak sanctions because now he knows what are the US limitations. In the two days since, Assad has detained and killed even more people than on any given two days over the last 7 weeks. A weak response always invites more terror.

Testimony. A Video of a soldier in the Republican guard testifying on camera that they were told Syria was being attacked by armed infiltrators only to to be told to shoot at peaceful unarmed demonstrators.

Mutiny in the Army. A Video showing injured soldiers being attended to in Dara’a after being shot by other soldiers for refusing to battle unarmed civilians.

Elaph. In an interview. Wahid Sakr, an Alawite dissident, declared to the popular Arab website that Syrians, in their long history, have never been sectarians. We knew that. This Video of Sakr appearing on TV and making a statement that 1,000 Syrian soldiers have been gunned down as a result of refusing to fire on unarmed civilians. They are in freezers with their next of kin unaware of their death yet.

al-Rustun. Additional units and equipment have arrived. the city may be bombed anytime.

Labor Day. Instead of celebrating, labor unions found themselves arrested today in several Provinces.

Arrests. Right after the mild sanctions levied against the Assad regime, the security men have descended on homes across the country to detain people. Some of the most prominent opposition leaders have been detained in Damascus, Aleppo, Qamoshli, and elsewhere. Syrians would have been better off without these sanctions to at least keep Assad guessing. Now that he knows the US is not serious about harming him, he has unleashed his venomous anger and killing machine on every street in Syria. Incidentally, this comes after lifting the Emergency Laws.

Caption: First result after lifting of Emergency Laws produces more than 100 martyrs.
