Barack Obama and John Kerry, obviously upset at the beating that Hamas has been taking, pledged yesterday to give $47 million dollars to help Hamas rebuild their supply of missiles to fire at Israel and to reopen the network of underground tunnels that Israel just destroyed to protect themselves. Well, if the news agencies were reporting the truth, that’s what it would sound like. But since we have to play liberal news media make-believe, please note the following item:
The United States pledged $47 million in humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, the Associated Press reported Monday. Tens of thousands of Palestinians have been forced to leave their homes as fighting between Hamas and Israel moved into its third week.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry was expected to talk about the aid with U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in a meeting late Monday in Cairo, the AP said. Nearly a third of the money, $15 million, was to go to assist the U.N. refugee mission in Gaza, a State Department analysis of the aid released Monday indicated.
Kerry arrived in Cairo, the Egyptian capital, for talks to work out a cease-fire between Israel and the militant group Hamas, which controls Gaza.
