Obama’s ‘After My Election I Have More Flexibility’ Promise To Putin Fulfilled

(Before It's News)

Microphone Picks Up Obama’s Private Exchange With Medvedev

In March of 2012, while President Obama was taking part in a global nuclear security summit in South Korea, he was caught on tape asking for Russian President Dmitry Medvedev for “space.” “This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility,” Obama implored. Obama assured the departing Russian President he will have the “flexibility” required to deal with missile defense issues after the 2012 presidential election.

As a pool of television journalists listened for details of the leaders’ meeting, Mr. Obama leaned in to deliver private assurances to Mr. Medvedev. But speaking into an open microphone, he inadvertently offered a rare and frank assessment of the difficulty of reaching a deal — on this or any subject — in an election year.

“On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this can be solved, but it’s important for him to give me space,” Mr. Obama could be heard saying to Mr. Medvedev, according a reporter from ABC News, who was traveling with the president.

“Yeah, I understand,” Mr. Medvedev, the outgoing Russian president, said. “I understand your message about space. Space for you …”

Mr. Obama then elaborated, in a portion of the exchange picked up by the cameras and reproduced by news agencies: “This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.” “I understand,” Mr. Medvedev said. “I will transmit this information to Vladimir,” he continued.

In 2015, we see an Obama-led America that is laying down and handing complete control of the Middle East narrative to Vladimir Putin and the Russian military. For nearly two weeks now, Russia has been nothing short of a blitzkrieg (pun intended) of activity in Syria, and runs completely unopposed by any kind of American intervention or military power. Obama has literally handed the entire Syrian situation to Putin, and in doing so weakens American foreign policy and influence.

When you watch the above video of Obama’s promise to Medvedev in 2012, and then read today’s headlines in 2015, you clearly see Obama’s promise to Russia has been fulfilled.

And so has Abraham Lincoln’s prophetic words of the day America would be betrayed by our own leaders:

Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant to step the ocean and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia, and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest, with a Bonaparte for a commander, could not by force take a drink from the Ohio or make a track on the Blue Ridge in a trial of a thousand years. At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer. If it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us; it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen we must live through all time or die by suicide.”Abraham Lincoln, Address Before the Young Men’s Lyceum of Springfield, Illinois January 27, 1838
