“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:10,11 (KJV)
Some think it’s trivial and silly, and on the surface it might seem that way. But what lies just underneath is an overt attempt by an ever-increasingly Godless, Obama-led American society to eradicate any and all references to a holiday which celebrates the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. The coffee cup wars have begun!
The coffee and donut chain released their cups after many evangelical Christians felt the devil was in the details of Starbucks basic red cup, which was trimmed down from previous years when the coffee company used more elaborate Christmas decor for java drinkers.
Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump weighed in on the controversy, calling customers to boycott Starbucks over the spiritless designs.
“For many years Dunkin’ Donuts has served coffee in festive cups featuring the word ‘joy’ as part of our annual celebration of the season and holiday offerings,” a spokesperson said in a statement. “We believe this conveys the happiness and spirit of the holiday season in a way that resonates with our guests.”
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord this holiday season, and celebrate it with a nice, hot cup of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee.
Mmmm……
