“Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me. But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.” Acts 20:23,24 (KJV)
As we prepare to enter our 5th year of preaching on the street in St. Augustine, I thought it might be good to give you an update of what’s been going on lately. The people you see in the above photo had just stopped to sit on the park bench as we were preaching today. We had a nice chat and then they asked to have this photo taken together as a souvenir. When you witness and preach on the streets, it is not only for the lost people. Street preaching is also a great reminder to the saved and born again people of our Heavenly Home that is waiting for us soon and very soon.
The brother in this photo was celebrating his 5th wedding anniversary with his lovely wife, and they too stopped to chat with us today. As you can see by his shirt, he is a bold witness for the Lord Jesus Christ. He also is a preacher and I gave him a nice stack of gospel tracts to take with him. I tried to be as much of an encouragement to him as he and his wife were to us. On top of all that, he is also a Steelers fan so we had that in common as well.
This is Bro. Damien sharing the gospel with a dear, lost soul who had stopped for a quick cigarette break. She sat and patiently listened to how she can avoid the “smoking section” for all eternity by trusting Jesus Christ as her Saviour. Please pray that she will reflect on the things she heard today and do something about it.
Now how about you, dear brother and sister in Christ? Have you answered the call to go out into the “highway and hedges” and tell people about Jesus while there is still time? Click on the image above to order your box of street-tested, Holy Spirit approved gospel tracts from NTEB. These are the very same tracts that we have been using on the streets since we started, and I can tell you from first hand experience that they are very well received.
Remember the words of missionary CT Studd who said these wonderful, inspiring words:
“Only one life, yes only one,
Now let me say,”Thy will be done”;
And when at last I’ll hear the call,
I know I’ll say “twas worth it all”;
Only one life,’twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
Only one life, ‘twill soon be past,
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
And when I am dying, how happy I’ll be,
If the lamp of my life has been burned out for Thee.”
It’s time to get in the game, Christian, time is almost up. Are you ready for what comes next?
