Pathetic!!!! It should be illegal to overbook!!!! Why is overbooking allowed!!!??? It happens all the time. I recall a flight I had to Brazil had overbooked 7 people. They offered $700.00 to every person willing to give up their seats. Naturally this is at the gate while the plane is readying for boarding. This is amateur hour…. With such advanced technology there most certainly are ways to halt bookings on any flight when the quota is sold….but they won’t do it. At time of booking your request to buy a seat should be expelled on any machines….airport or computors, etc…. if it is a full flight. Better to leave some empty seats than to sell every seat for last minute personnel changes.
