(Before It's News)

BBC released predictions today based on data axiomatically grounded in the  anticipation that “As the world’s population soars, so does its consumption, and as a result we are stretching many of our natural resources to their limits.” The report also suggests that one of its premises is that the commodities included on the chart exist in a free market that is expected by the dominant culture to fix over-use.

Notably, due to run out just 17 years ( 2029) is the world supply of silver. BBC lists as dominant uses for silver jewelry and medals, apparently leaving out world bullion demand?  According to the BBC, copper will outlast silver,  with its estimated 37 years left (2049). Gold is absent from the list.

Some other key points:

  • Gas has 35 years(2047) before it runs out, and oil has 37 years(2049).
  • By 2030, the Arctic is ice free by the summertime. And, in 2050, one-third “of land plan and animal species extinct due to climate change.”
  • In 196 years (2208), the last rainforest, the Brazilian rainforest, will be gone.

But, most immediate according to the “state-sponsored journalism” at BBC, the chart predicts that in just eight years the world will be absent Antimony, and so therefore prescription drugs and batteries. After that, in but 12 years, the world can say farewell to touchscreens and solar panels.
