We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

In my view, that sentence was the single most defining rule of the fledgling United States; empowering it – ABOVE ALL – to the greatness it achieved in the following two centuries. However, once the gold standard was abandoned – and gold not only deserted, but demonized – America altered its course to the “path of least resistance”; HYPERINFLATION. Millions of pages will be written on the rise and fall of the American empire; but if TRUTH be told, the epitaph of its greatness will start on September 17th, 1787, and end August 15th, 1971.
