Southern Copper declares Blockbuster Q3-2012 Dividend

On Thursday, October 18th 2012, after the bell, Souther Copper Corporation  (NYSE: SCCO, ISIN US84265V1052) announced a blockbuster Q3-2012, dividend of
USD 2.75 a share payable on November 21st 2012, to shareholders of record on
November 8th 2012.

This Q3-2012 dividend payment will be the company’s highest dividend payout ever.

About the Company
The company, which is owned approx. 81.3% by Grupo Mexico, is one of the largest integrated copper producers in the world, which, besides copper, also produces molybdenum, zinc, lead, coal and silver.

Since 2003, the company has had a history of paying a dividend which is higher than those of its peers and with an average yield of between 6 – 9% per year.

Based on the Southern Copper fundamentals, strong balance sheet, with a Current- and Quick ratio of  respectively of 4.1 and 3.2 we have a BUY RATING on the Company.
