Texas Rep. Ron Paul would be so proud.

Jerry O’Neil, a Republican state legislator in Montana, is so worried about the nation’s fiscal health that he wants to be paid in gold and silver coins.

  • We, the taxpayers, should not be paying the greedy welfare politicians any where near what they gouge from salaries and pensions, lush travel and living expenses, let alone give them gold.. Their wild greed for $$$ is a huge part of the deficit problem. These self-serving elitists think entitlements, give to me, me, me. As of January 2010, the annual salary of each Representative is $174,000!
By law, the starting amount of a Member’s retirement annuity may not exceed 80% of his or her final salary, and that’s just for starters.

Give them subsistence pay, and let them earn that.
