Cigarette Butts and their packaging are one of the most littered and toxic items on our roads and beaches with the littering rate at 65%. Worse yet, that 77% of people do not consider cigarettes litter, thinking tobacco products are biodegradable.

Fortunately Terracycle has initated a cigarette recycling program and there are over 200 Waste Brigades in place. Cities such as New York, St. Louis, and New Jersey have instigated Cigarette Recycling Programs.
There are other alternatives to to recycling cigarette butt, like making art or even clothing.

The thing about cigarette litter, it is everywhere, one can barely take a mile walk without seeing cigarette butts and cigarette trash. Sad but true
