COAST GUARD TRACES PLUME TO WELL

NOW PERMANENTLY CLOSED [Tues. 03-21-11]

Coast Guard knew over the weekend that the mystery of Grand Isle's new oil slick was the responsibility of Houston based Anglo-Suisse Offshore Partners.

Crews had reported a leak last week, surpised both of the leak at an abandoned closed well and that FIVE GALLONS (?) of CRUDE OIL would cause such a assive plume.

On Monday [FOUR DAYS AFTER FIRST CITIZEN REPORTS] the Coast Guard found Anglo-Suisse Offshore Partners employees trying to close the well with a remotely operated submarine.

Located in the  West Delta Block 117 west-southwest of Southwest Pass – the wellhead was reconnected and shut down by this evening, Tuesday March 21,2011.

  • I don’t believe for a minute that was/is the spill, 5 gal., nor the location of.

  • xdrfox: I certainly hope readers are actually READING!!!

The article states that the COAST GUARD “knew” all along
the probable source. It was NOT A MYSTERY?

So they LIED to the Times Picayune !!! Right?

There were clearly more important things to do since they did not inspect [following the plume supposadly]
    until MONDAY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Hello out there? Why are they called the COAST GUARD?
Unbelievable. Or it should be unbelievable – but these days?!?

  • Why are the Authorities Mayor being told one thing and other papers saying something else, it’s all a shell gave to baffle and confuse readers. I have read many articles about since it came out and no where did they tell anyone that they knew prior.

    excerpts:

The incident comes at a time when the oil and gas industry is trying to convince regulators, politicians and the public that it can avoid a repeat of the Deepwater Horizon disaster, which was the largest offshore oil spill in U.S. history, and should be allowed to resume drilling in the Gulf of Mexico’s deep waters.

after oil companies were able to comply with more stringent safety guidelines and show that they could contain and clean up any spill.

    “Well someone Blew it ”

COULD THIS BE WHY THE C G is slow to find what it was and the source ?
