Arizona Film Maker Makes History With Uninterrupted PBS Film Screening: People v. The State of Illusion on Arizona PBS November 29th
(1888PressRelease) On November 29, 2012, at 9:00 p.m. MT in Arizona on PBS (Channel 8), People v. The State of Illusion, a docudrama written and produced by local filmmaker Austin Vickers, will be played, for one of the first times in PBS history, in its entirety with no commercial breaks.
Phoenix-Mesa, AZ – Both PBS executives and Vickers felt the film, a must-see psychological movie that Scientific American called “compelling” and “inspiring,” would have the most impact on viewers if it was played without commercial interruption. The film, if watched and supported by PBS viewers, will expand to television markets across the country, potentially bringing its message on the science and power of imagination, to hundreds of thousands of people nationwide. The film is also novel in that it is structured like a trial, and makes the viewer both judge and jury in an emotionally compelling case that includes, as expert witnesses, some of the nation’s leading thinkers in the fields of neuroscience, biochemistry, psychology, quantum physics, and consciousness theory, including Dr. Thomas Moore, Dr. Candace Pert, Debbie Ford, Dr. Joe Dispenza, Dr. Robert Jahn, Dr. Peter Senge, Brenda Dunne, and Dr. Michael Vandermark.
The broadcasting of the movie on PBS is the realization of an imagination that filmmaker and leadership speaker Austin Vickers first had about 4 years ago, while speaking in Phoenix to an audience of school teachers sponsored by PBS. “One of the greatest lessons of leadership I have ever learned came from making this film,” states Vickers. “Great dreams and imaginations do not need a clear and known path for their realization. People v. The State of Illusion was first released in Phoenix at the Harkins Camelview Theater in Scottsdale where it played for over two months.
