n/a A new study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association has shown that taking multi-vitamin supplements may reduce the risk of cancer. The 14 year long study took place between 1997 and 2011 and had close to 15,000 participants. Compared with placebo, men taking a daily multivitamin had a statistically significant reduction in the incidence of total cancer. The study conclusion: ”In this large prevention trial of male physicians, daily multivitamin supplementation modestly but significantly reduced the risk of total cancer.” The study was authored by researchers and practitioners working at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, VA Boston Healthcare System, and Harvard School of Public Health.
